Habitat Flathead Mentorship Program

There is a lot involved in building a home with Habitat Flathead, and once a Habitat Homebuyer signs our partnership agreement, it’s time to get to work! It can be a lot to take in, remember, and manage. There are Habitat terms like ‘sweat equity’, banking and mortgage language, everything construction, and a whole community of people dedicated to working and volunteering on behalf of our homebuyers. So, we launched a mentorship program!

Our mentors make a year-long commitment, typically a few hours each month, to new Habitat Homebuyers, and provide guidance and encouragement throughout the process. Mentors and mentees will follow a tailored curriculum set, with topics that will guide financial accountability, home maintenance, community integration, and asset management skills long after they move into their home.

We are looking for mentors who are fiscally responsible and experienced homeowners, patient and good listeners, and able to relate and share their knowledge and experience with their mentee(s).
